Video: Covenant Rescue Advocacy Vlog

Posted by Carrie Burgan on Sunday, August 30, 2009,

Well, this is actually a week old. I should've posted earlier but it totally escaped me because I posted it at Facebook. This tells a little about Covenant as well as shows you our work with Scarlett. It also showcases my fresh bedhead! What could be better?

Happy 4th Anniversary Princess

Posted by CRA with permission of Pittieboo on Friday, August 28, 2009,

4 years ago today my life changed in more ways than I could put into words. A wiggly, roo-ing, pit bull ran up to me and I was not afraid to bend down to pet her. In that moment I fell in love. She wore a purple collar, no tags, and a cheap flea collar with her teats hanging loose from her. She had to belong to someone and so on that day I grabbed my office camera and took this photo of her to assist me in breaking the language barrier near my office while looking for her owner. From thi...

Scarlett Update

Posted by Carrie Burgan on Thursday, August 27, 2009,
Here's the very important stuff: the health update. Scarlett is now ear mite-free! Ivermectin injections along with mineral oil in the ears every few days smothered those mites into oblivion. She also had no bladder/kidney stones or bladder sludge, which is great. She may have a touch of arthritis that is preventing her from cleaning her "undercarriage" as well as she should, so we shaved her down a little to make it easier for her to stay clean and for her caretakers to keep her clean. I'm a...

On a Mission for Muffin

Posted by Carrie Burgan on Monday, August 17, 2009,
This is a guest post about a very special little gal named Muffin. Covenant Rescue Advocacy made a small donation toward Muffin's care and wanted to help spread the word to help this cutie. Thumbs up to Heather for taking a big risk on a little dog.

Hi! My name is Heather Laszlo and I fell in love with a little dog at the The Humane Society of Newark, NJ about a month ago. Her name is Muffin. Muffin belonged to a family who let the children play roughly with her and then one day, it happened. ...

Jenny + Brian + Coco = Boxer Love!

Posted by Carrie Burgan for Jenny on Friday, August 14, 2009,
Jenny, a former Detroit-area gal, has recently relocated to the west coast. She shared her story about how she met the fuzzy gal in her life... Coco!

Brian really wanted a boxer and we knew we wanted to rescue, so we started searching in Petfinder. We entered in our preferences (boxer) and had it e-mail us whenever a new dog was posted within 30 miles of our address. It took a little over 3 months for us to get an e-mail about one that really caught our eye. When I got the e-mail I just knew...

The Scarlett Saga

Posted by Carrie Burgan on Monday, August 10, 2009,
Scarlett has now been with our family for five days. I enjoy her presence and she is really opening up to me, becoming more courageous by the day. We think she's just precious and appreciate the time we have with her. This relaxed, happy gal is going to make someone very happy!

Scarlett came to us from her owner. Her owner had a small child that is allergic to the rabbit, so much so that he was getting hive-type reactions and vomiting. Ms. Scarlett was housed in the garage while a new home was...

Welcome to Covenant!

Posted by Carrie Burgan on Thursday, August 6, 2009,
Welcome to Covenant Rescue Advocacy! I'm Carrie Burgan and I knew that something special was afoot back in December of 2008. I have always had a heart for animals and as I've gotten older, the feeling have intensified. I registered www.rescueadvocacy.org knowing that there was a "plan" for me to raise awareness and funds for animal rescue. I also knew we were called toward animal rescue.  I kept waiting, praying, and being patient, hoping that the answer of "what to do with 'rescueadvocacy.or...
