So many of you have found Covenant Rescue Advocacy based on your searches for Muffin the dog. (SEE: " On a Mission for Muffin".) I thought I would post the most recent Morning Muffin, the newsletter Heather Laszlo sent out to all "Muffin supporters" out there. Heather raised $385 for her Muffin rescue effort. Although she didn't quite make the mark she was looking to make, Muffin is doing great. It's so great to see someone take a chance on a little critter like Muffin and have such a happy en... Finally... a reality show that I can get behind! I stumbled upon a message board post today that linked me to Rescue Ink, a new reality show that's half Animal Planet's Animal Cops and half TLC's Miami Ink. Keep your eyes open for NatGeo's Rescue Ink. In a metropolitan area with more than 20 million residents, thousands of animals — dogs, cats, and even chickens and piranhas — are neglected, abused, hoarded or housed illegally. A few years ago, eight tough guys from the mean streets, who... Continue reading ...

years ago today my life changed in more ways than I could put into
words. A wiggly, roo-ing, pit bull ran up to me and I was not afraid to
bend down to pet her. In that moment I fell in love. She wore a purple
collar, no tags, and a cheap flea collar with her teats hanging loose
from her. She had to belong to someone and so on that day I grabbed my
office camera and took this photo of her to assist me in breaking the
language barrier near my office while looking for her owner. From thi... Continue reading ...

Here's the very important stuff: the health update. Scarlett is now ear mite-free! Ivermectin injections along with mineral oil in the ears every few days smothered those mites into oblivion. She also had no bladder/kidney stones or bladder sludge, which is great. She may have a touch of arthritis that is preventing her from cleaning her "undercarriage" as well as she should, so we shaved her down a little to make it easier for her to stay clean and for her caretakers to keep her clean. I'm a... Continue reading ...

This is a guest post about a very special little gal named Muffin. Covenant Rescue Advocacy made a small donation toward Muffin's care and wanted to help spread the word to help this cutie. Thumbs up to Heather for taking a big risk on a little dog.
Hi!
My name is Heather Laszlo and I fell in love with a little dog at the
The Humane Society of Newark, NJ about a month ago. Her name is Muffin.
Muffin belonged to a family who let the children play roughly with her
and then one day, it happened. ... Continue reading ...

Scarlett has now been with our family for five days. I enjoy her presence and she is really opening up to me, becoming more courageous by the day. We think she's just precious and appreciate the time we have with her. This relaxed, happy gal is going to make someone very happy! Scarlett came to us from her owner. Her owner had a small child that is allergic to the rabbit, so much so that he was getting hive-type reactions and vomiting. Ms. Scarlett was housed in the garage while a new home was...
